This Family Engagement Series is open to families of English Learners, Title I, and/or Special Education students.

Join us on October 27 to learn strategies to develop an understanding of promoting literacy at home, fostering critical thinking skills, discovering the virtual impact of reading, and establishing a family reading area.

Presenters for this session include:

Crystal Robinson, a National Board-Certified Teacher specializing in English as a New Language. Currently she serves as the K-12 English Learners in Special Programs Specialist. She has 26 years of experience working with English Learners, including those receiving special education services.

Jennifer Cooper, Librarian at Potomac High School. A former English Teacher, she currently works as a librarian in the Division. She focuses on providing a variety of resources to her students and creating spaces that welcome multilingual students and families. Ms. Cooper has been a teacher for over 20 years.

2020-21 Parents as Educational Partners Sessions

Our Division  offers sessions to help families acclimate themselves with the US educational system. The Parents as Educational Partners  programs (PEP) are available at many schools and at our Global Welcome Centers in both Woodbridge and Manassas. 

The PEP program includes:

  • School Procedures Information
  • Initiatives to Promote Healthy Youth
  • Rosetta Stone Learning
  • And More!
