Safety and Training

The Safety and Training Section oversees new bus driver and attendant applications, initial training, continuing education, and safety statistics. We work closely with the Virginia State Police, FBI, and various other County and State Departments.

Driver training is provided by certified trainers employed by Prince William County Public Schools. Our trainers are highly skilled professionals versed in Classroom and On-Road Training, and Virginia's first driving simulator used for training professional school bus drivers.

Continuing Education

Each professional driver and assistant are required to maintain their level of expertise with continuing education. Excellence doesn't end when you become a driver, it just begins. An extensive training program is designed to keep our drivers knowledgeable of new laws, techniques, and other valuable driving information, including a state-of-the-art driving simulator which emulates road hazards to enhance our drivers' skills.
