Prince William County received a DoDEA grant to assist military-connected students and their families feel engaged in the community and to ensure a smooth transition into the school division. The two main goals of the grant are:
Goal 1:Ease transitions of military-connected students and families in target schools as measured by the percentage of transitioning military-connected families who participate in transition action plan activities.
Goal 2:Increase the percentage of military-connected students who demonstrate mastery of transition-enhancing social and emotional skills included in the transition counseling program.
We are here to support the development of social/emotional skills for military-connected students and parents by providing resources and activities that help them connect to the community and successfully transition into a new school environment.
Your student(s) will have the opportunity to take part in our friendship groups with our Military Student Transition Program Director and participate in events and programs that will ease your students' transitions. We'll have breakfasts, after-school events, and in-school peer group sessions led by our special counselors.
You and your student(s) may check out currentPWCSlinks, to students', parents', and staff's feedback and more information about our program.
