New W-4, Employee’s Withholding Certificate, Available

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has released a new version of Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Certificate, that took effect January 1, 2020.

Employees are not required to turn in a new W-4 if there’s an existing W-4 on file. However, it is encouraged to look into your withholdings by using the IRS’s Tax Withholding Estimator on the IRS website. To effectively utilize this tool, it is helpful to have a most recent pay stub and your most recent personal income tax return.
