On-Time Graduation Rate

The On-Time Graduation Reports (OGR) shows the graduation and dropout rates for PWCS as calculated by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). Students who have earned a Standard Diploma, Advanced Studies Diploma, Modified Standard Diploma, or Special Diploma are considered OGR graduates.

The cohort used in these calculations is comprised of students who were first-time ninth graders four years prior to the reporting year (i.e., the 2008 OGR cohort were first-time ninth graders in 2004-05) plus transfers in, minus transfers out. Special Education and English Language Learner (ELL) students are given until they reach the max age of educability to achieve OGR status.

As of 2009-10, the OGR replaces the No Child Left Behind graduation rate as Virginia’s official graduation rate.
